Today we focus on one of the most versatile and beloved ingredients in Italian cuisine: ground beef . Thanks to its versatility, ground beef lends itself to a multitude of dishes, perfect for all occasions.

We offer you three simple and tasty recipes, which enhance the authentic taste of our minced meat: Crostini with minced meat, Stuffed meatloaf in the oven and Meat croquettes . Let's get started right away!

1. Crostini with minced meat

A tasty and easy to prepare appetizer, ideal for a dinner with friends or to open a family lunch.

Ingredients:

  • ● 300 g of minced meat (preferably beef or pork)

  • ● 1 onion and 1 small carrot finely chopped

  • ● 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil

  • ● 1 clove of garlic

  • ● half a glass of white wine

  • ● 1 teaspoon tomato paste

  • ● Salt and pepper to taste

  • ● 8 slices of Tuscan bread

  • ● Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

    Preparation:

  1. In a pan, heat the oil and brown the garlic with the chopped onion and carrot until golden.

  2. Add the minced meat and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally and once the meat is golden brown, pour in half a glass of white wine.

  3. Once the wine has evaporated, add the tomato paste and season with salt and pepper. Continue cooking over low heat until the meat is well cooked (about 20 minutes), also adding a few spoonfuls of hot water to allow the sauce to form.

  4. Meanwhile, toast the slices of Tuscan bread in the oven or on a grill.

  5. Once ready, place a spoonful of minced meat on each crouton.

    Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve hot.

2. Baked stuffed meatloaf

A great classic of Italian tables, stuffed meatloaf is a complete and flavorful dish that always wins everyone over.

Ingredients :

  • ● 600 g of mixed minced meat (veal and pork)

  • ● 2 eggs

  • ● 100 g of breadcrumbs

  • ● 100 g of grated parmesan

  • ● Salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste

  • ● 100 g of cooked ham

  • ● 100 g of stretched curd cheese (scamorza or provola)

  • ● Chopped parsley

  • ● Extra virgin olive oil

    Preparation :

  1. In a large bowl, mix the ground beef with the eggs, breadcrumbs, parmesan, salt, pepper, half a teaspoon of nutmeg and parsley. Knead until the mixture is smooth.

  2. Roll out the dough on a sheet of baking paper, forming a rectangle.

  3. Stuff the center of the rectangle with the slices of cooked ham and the curd cheese.

  • ● Breadcrumbs to taste

  • ● Salt and pepper to taste

  • ● Oil for frying

Preparation :

  1. Mash the boiled potatoes in a bowl, then add the minced meat, egg, parmesan, salt, pepper and parsley. Mix well until you get a compact dough.

  2. Form small balls with the mixture and flatten them slightly to create the shape of croquettes.

  3. Dip each croquette first in the egg and then in the breadcrumbs, making sure they are well coated.

  4. Heat plenty of oil in a pan and fry the croquettes until golden brown. Once ready, drain them on absorbent paper to eliminate excess oil.

  5. Serve the croquettes hot, perhaps accompanied by a sauce or homemade mayonnaise.
